The Adamello Brenta Nature Park sits in the Dolomites in Northern Italy. The oldest nature park in Italy, this 620 km2 (240 mi2) expanse houses Italy's largest glaciers, more than eighty lakes, brown bears, and the frontline of WWI battles between the Austrian and Italian forces. A five-day trek through this mountain oasis brings irreplaceable views, notable historical sites and tunnels, and a trek across a glacier. The following is your itinerary:
Day 1: We meet at the mountain guide's office in Arco, a town just north of Lake Garda, and drive to Passo Tonale to take the cable car up to the Passo Paradiso (2,600 m/8530 ft) and Passo Presena (2,980 m/9,780 ft). We visit the Glaciological Center, dedicated to the Austrian officer Julius Payer who first climbed Adamello in 1864, to learn more about the magnificent frozen features. We continue to our accommodation for the night, “Rifugio Mandrone” or Mandrone Lode. Descent: 550 m; Walking time: 2.5 hours
Day 2: We begin the day by hiking past the crystal clear Mandrone Lakes and crossing the Mandrone Glacier, the southernmost glacier in the Brenta Dolomites. Walk across the frozen plain and admire the limestone rocks peeking out around the ice. A steep climb brings us to our next accommodation, Rifugio ai Caduti dell'Adamello. The afternoon climb takes us to the summit Cresta Croce (3,276 m/10,700 ft) to visit a cannon placed here by the Italians during WWI. Take in the history and the panoramic views over the stunning Dolomite peaks. Ascent: 600 m + 300 m to reach the cannon; Walking time: 5h + 1.5 hrs to the cannon
Day 3: Our morning trek brings us past the glacier towards Passo di Cavento (3,198 m/10,490 ft). The Austrian army built tunnels in the mountain during WWI to defend against the "Alpini," Italian mountain forces. Then we continue to the Niscli Pass (2,912 m/9,550 ft) and arrive at the Rifugio Carè Alto (2,580 m/8,460 ft), the location of an Austrian fortress built to house hundreds of soldiers. Ascent: 250 m; Descent: 200 m Walking time: 6 hrs
Day 4: After crossing the Bocca di Conca (2,674 m/8,770 ft), we trek through the Valle di Cavento and over the rocky landscape of the Passo delle Vacche (2,872 m/9,420 ft). The downhill path of Val di Fumo brings us to our last hut, Rifugio Val di Fumo (1,900 m/6,230 ft). The day’s paths wind along the Chiese River, offering sweeping views and gorgeous mountain scenery. Ascent: 300 m; Descent: 1000 m; Walking time: 5.5 hrs
Day 5: The final pass includes crossing the gorgeous Passo Breguzzo (2,765 mt) and the Val de Vescovo for a break at Rifugio Trivena (1633 m). A short walk of 20 minutes brings us to a minibus to take us back to Arco. Ascent: 650 m Descent: 1100 m Walking time: 5.5 hrs
Reach incredible views and travel across a WWI frontline on an Italian exploration. The five days of hiking, glacier crossing, and history makes for a high mountain trip full of adventure.

A very good experience. The number of exposed sections were shorter (but with considerable difficulty) than what I had expected. Hiking along the steep path carved out in the mountain was the mainstay. But 5/5 to our guide Matteo who was an expert mountaineer (he helped a fellow climber cross over a difficult section when she got badly stuck). Overall a very memorable experience!

Best day ever, easy to find very reliable and friendly staff. Plus you get to see some really great scenery on your way to the steering point. First class canyoning and the guide Andrea needs a pay rise.

This was definitely the highlight of my trip to Lake Garda! Such an amazing experience with one other solo traveller and our guide Andrea who immediately put us at ease with his sense of humour and easy going nature. He also kept a watchful eye on our safety as we were both first timers on a via ferrata climb. The views were spectacular ...even better than I anticipated! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun yet challenging activity

Location was very nice, instructor was friendly and experienced. We had a lot of fun! Only thing that was a bit confusing was the pickup. We booked through OutdoorVisit but we're supposed to find the tour operator (MMove) at the crowded pickup point. They didn't seem to be able to find our reservation, but after 20 mins everything worked out. This meant that other people had to wait for us though.

Fantastic day out. The guys were great, made it a laugh and I 100% recommend. I’m afraid of heights and water and managed to do it, my adrenaline was pumping. Lots of jumps and abseils. It is a little scary but you feel great and really feel you achieved something afterwards. I think the reps were called David and Andreo they were great!
