It takes about 90 mins to drive from Prague to where your adventure starts, high up on Jested, one of the most prominent mountains in the country. At the start of the trip, your guide will give you some quick lessons and demonstrate how simple it is to use snowshoes. One can say that if you can walk, you can snowshoe too! Take your supplies, including a headlamp (torch) and a flask of hot tea, and start off.
You may occasionally see the Giant Mountains in the east, the bordering countries of Germany and Poland in the north, and on a clear day, even Prague, as the trail takes you through snow-capped forests. Reaching the summit of the mountain takes an hour and a half to two hours, depending on the group's fitness level. You can take a well-earned break there and perhaps even enjoy a lovely dinner or at least a cup of mulled wine (at your own expense) at a fascinating restaurant decorated with 60's and 70's glass, metal, and ceramic design. It makes sense that the restaurant and TV tower are both classified as National Cultural Heritage sites.
Once you've re-entered the route, it's time to put on your headlamp and take in the final 30 minutes of your snowshoeing in a magical nighttime setting. Usually, you’re back in Prague between 8 and 9 PM, so you still have a chance to dine out in the city center in case you haven’t used the opportunity atop the Jested mountain.

The canoe trip on Sazava was fantastic: great guide Michal, cool travelling companions, beautiful countryside, delicious lunch and beer. Paddling on the river was adventurous, with easy and calm bits and exciting rapids. I will come back for sure!

I had a fantastic time with our guide. We drove to a location outside or Prague and then canoed this river with beautiful serene scenery. We had a picnic lunch along the way on the side of the river. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Prague.

Martin was kind and a real expert , both with the canoe and with his thorough knowledge of the area. He looked after us and it was clear to the eye that it was important to him that our experience will be full, unique and different. His English is perfect. The canoe is easy and safe to ride at any age and Martin is a real expert. As a person he is kind with sense of humor, patient and full of life. It was a pleasure to take the journey with him We strongly recommend him and his unique tour.

Highly recommended, fantastic day-trip from Prague. Martin was a phenomenal host, communicated well over email, picked up at hotel, took good care of us during the event, demonstrated ingenuity and good problem solving skills and ensured our family, with two kids aged 6 and 9, are safe at all times. What a great day out! It was definitely a bit colder than we would have wished but that meant we had the river to ourselves and it is really beautiful at this time of year with all the fresh spring green. Martin was a really great host and guide. He picked us up exactly ontime and made us feel really welcome throughout as well as seeng a pair of pretty inexperienced canoists safely down the river whilst having a lot of fun. Prague is a beautiful city but if you want to see a bit of the countryside as well this is highly recommended way of doing just that.
