Sure, Prague is full of bars and pubs with great and cheap beer. But no beer tastes better than freshly poured in a microbrewery. After years of riding and years of tasting, we know the best place to go! And because here in the Czech Republic bike belongs to our life in the same way beer does, we believe this is one of the best ways to spend a free day.
After pick up at your hotel it is about a 20 min drive to the starting point at the very edge of Prague. This way we avoid most traffic and we start enjoying great cycling paths along the Vltava and Berounka rivers. We are biking on flat trails surrounded by meadows and small towns all the way to the most beautiful and best-preserved castle in the Czech Republic - Karlstejn. After about one hour break to soak the medieval atmosphere we head for a final push of about 16 km to our favorite microbrewery in the area.
Though we have to climb a bit during the last part, it is really worth it. There are no more towns along the way, just little villages and lush countryside all around us. It seems people here live the same way as years ago, when communists operated a Czech biggest air-missile base carefully hidden in forests of a hill above us... When we arrive in the cozy village of Vseradice, we enjoy a decent late lunch and taste locally made beer. Usually, the master is present and if so, he is always happy to show us around (this is no scheduled tour, he just likes to talk and we like to listen...)
We have more options for our way back, usually, we ride back our bikes near Karlstejn and then take a train back to our car and finally we drop you off at the hotel. If you feel you have reached your daily dose of exercise, we can just take the train all the way back to the car.

The canoe trip on Sazava was fantastic: great guide Michal, cool travelling companions, beautiful countryside, delicious lunch and beer. Paddling on the river was adventurous, with easy and calm bits and exciting rapids. I will come back for sure!

I had a fantastic time with our guide. We drove to a location outside or Prague and then canoed this river with beautiful serene scenery. We had a picnic lunch along the way on the side of the river. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Prague.

Martin was kind and a real expert , both with the canoe and with his thorough knowledge of the area. He looked after us and it was clear to the eye that it was important to him that our experience will be full, unique and different. His English is perfect. The canoe is easy and safe to ride at any age and Martin is a real expert. As a person he is kind with sense of humor, patient and full of life. It was a pleasure to take the journey with him We strongly recommend him and his unique tour.

Highly recommended, fantastic day-trip from Prague. Martin was a phenomenal host, communicated well over email, picked up at hotel, took good care of us during the event, demonstrated ingenuity and good problem solving skills and ensured our family, with two kids aged 6 and 9, are safe at all times. Great activity for families, picturesque sites down the river and awesome host! Thank you.

What a great day out! It was definitely a bit colder than we would have wished but that meant we had the river to ourselves and it is really beautiful at this time of year with all the fresh spring green. Martin was a really great host and guide. He picked us up exactly ontime and made us feel really welcome throughout as well as seeng a pair of pretty inexperienced canoists safely down the river whilst having a lot of fun. Prague is a beautiful city but if you want to see a bit of the countryside as well this is highly recommended way of doing just that.
