After 15 years of riding bike trails in Czech, I’m not afraid to say I know the best natural singletrack in the country – and it’s the one I’m going to show you! I will pick you up at your hotel and we’ll discuss all the bike stuff while we drive to the starting point.
For a warm-up, we ride some smaller village streets and paved tracks by the Sazava and Vltava rivers. Broad riverbanks change quickly into a winding track in a narrow valley with a small stream in the middle of it. And here is the funny part – we have to cross this stream about 9 times, sometimes via a little footbridge, sometimes even without.
Before the most demanding climb of the day, we enjoy the first true singletracks. The section that follows allows us to enjoy some beautiful views of small hills and we start descending to the Sazava river where we have our lunch – riding mainly on quite nice forest trails.
The best natural singletrack in Czech that I know of starts once we descend to the river bank, and follow it all the way back to our car. It is 8 kilometers of the funniest ride you can imagine. Surrounded by a deep gorge with the river below our wheels we will be going up little uphills and riding small downhills at all times. Woooohooo!! Luckily there are numerous viewpoints of the river where we can catch our breath…
The track is pretty narrow at times so you need some skills, though, it is no enduro and even my mother could probably do it, if I told her she’d be safe ;-). Anyway. The faster you go, the more you pump, the more you enjoy!”

The canoe trip on Sazava was fantastic: great guide Michal, cool travelling companions, beautiful countryside, delicious lunch and beer. Paddling on the river was adventurous, with easy and calm bits and exciting rapids. I will come back for sure!

I had a fantastic time with our guide. We drove to a location outside or Prague and then canoed this river with beautiful serene scenery. We had a picnic lunch along the way on the side of the river. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Prague.

Martin was kind and a real expert , both with the canoe and with his thorough knowledge of the area. He looked after us and it was clear to the eye that it was important to him that our experience will be full, unique and different. His English is perfect. The canoe is easy and safe to ride at any age and Martin is a real expert. As a person he is kind with sense of humor, patient and full of life. It was a pleasure to take the journey with him We strongly recommend him and his unique tour.

Highly recommended, fantastic day-trip from Prague. Martin was a phenomenal host, communicated well over email, picked up at hotel, took good care of us during the event, demonstrated ingenuity and good problem solving skills and ensured our family, with two kids aged 6 and 9, are safe at all times. What a great day out! It was definitely a bit colder than we would have wished but that meant we had the river to ourselves and it is really beautiful at this time of year with all the fresh spring green. Martin was a really great host and guide. He picked us up exactly ontime and made us feel really welcome throughout as well as seeng a pair of pretty inexperienced canoists safely down the river whilst having a lot of fun. Prague is a beautiful city but if you want to see a bit of the countryside as well this is highly recommended way of doing just that.
