You are going to enjoy an easy and stunning ride to the most beautiful castle in the Czech Republic, avoiding all traffic en route. It’s hard to imagine an easier and more enjoyable ride than the one to Karlstejn - a 27 km ride along two rivers with next to zero climbing, and the best – with no traffic at all! We avoid cars by starting our ride right on the edge of Prague, where we'll drive you from your hotel.
About 97% of the ride follows designated (mostly paved) cycling paths and before seeing the castle for the first time, you will enjoy peaceful Czech countryside and lush green forests that will make you think you’re much farther than a few minutes from Prague by train. If you feel like it, we can stop for a swim in the river or have a break at one of many little biker’s cafés that local cyclists like so much... Or perhaps we can make a small break at our favorite bakery? If you prefer only paved tracks, no problem, if you don’t mind a bit of dirt, we know some shortcuts (still easy)!
The best comes at the very end of our ride, when we take you to a meadow squeezed between dense forests, where there is the most stunning view of the Karlstejn castle. It’s so stunning not just because Karlstejn is suddenly below us but especially because we see nothing but the castle and forests all around. Suddenly you feel like there might just be Charles IV and his companions marching on horses across the meadow...If you like to, feel free to attend a 55 minute tour inside the castle (170 CZK, not included in the price), though we think the castle’s beauty is rather outside than inside.
If you are a beginner to intermediate biker and you want to explore the Czech Republic capital’s surroundings, this is the way to go! Feel free to join your guide for a lunch at our favorite restaurant by the castle at the end of the ride (included in the price). Finally, you get back to Prague by pleasant 40 minutes ride on a train, without having to worry about the bikes as we leave them at Karlstejn.

The canoe trip on Sazava was fantastic: great guide Michal, cool travelling companions, beautiful countryside, delicious lunch and beer. Paddling on the river was adventurous, with easy and calm bits and exciting rapids. I will come back for sure!

I had a fantastic time with our guide. We drove to a location outside or Prague and then canoed this river with beautiful serene scenery. We had a picnic lunch along the way on the side of the river. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Prague.

Martin was kind and a real expert , both with the canoe and with his thorough knowledge of the area. He looked after us and it was clear to the eye that it was important to him that our experience will be full, unique and different. His English is perfect. The canoe is easy and safe to ride at any age and Martin is a real expert. As a person he is kind with sense of humor, patient and full of life. It was a pleasure to take the journey with him We strongly recommend him and his unique tour.

Highly recommended, fantastic day-trip from Prague. Martin was a phenomenal host, communicated well over email, picked up at hotel, took good care of us during the event, demonstrated ingenuity and good problem solving skills and ensured our family, with two kids aged 6 and 9, are safe at all times. What a great day out! It was definitely a bit colder than we would have wished but that meant we had the river to ourselves and it is really beautiful at this time of year with all the fresh spring green. Martin was a really great host and guide. He picked us up exactly ontime and made us feel really welcome throughout as well as seeng a pair of pretty inexperienced canoists safely down the river whilst having a lot of fun. Prague is a beautiful city but if you want to see a bit of the countryside as well this is highly recommended way of doing just that.
