This is the most popular safari in Uganda and Africa since it not only allows you to track gorillas, but it also allows you to see Uganda's rift valleys and travel between the two regions of the country, allowing you to observe a variety of cultures throughout your transfers. Another magical experience on this tour is encountering with the Batwa Community, an indigenous tribe of people who used to live in the forest. The tropical rain forest adds to the meaning, making this Safari one of the guaranteed adventures that will never be forgotten.
Day 1:
The driver will take you up from the hotel after breakfast at 7:00 a.m. and bring you to the south west of Uganda. The first section of the journey takes us into central Uganda. You will eat lunch in Mbarara at the famed Igongo Culture Centre before continuing on to Rushaga Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Kabale District, going through communities, farmed farms, and hills. Check in to the Lodge, then dine and sleep at Rushaga Gorilla Camp's High End Accommodation.
Day 2:
This is the day of the gorilla tracking expedition. At 7:45 a.m., you will arrive at the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park's starting point for a pre-briefing, and at 8:30 a.m., you will begin the hike. It is a real hiking and being physically fit is recommended. Once you have located the gorillas, you will spend no more than one hour with them. We set the time limit at one hour to avoid disturbing them in their natural environments and to prevent babies from commencing games that may be difficult to manage. The gorillas may touch you, especially your hair, to show their appreciation for you while you are having fun and shooting images that will last a lifetime! You'll then hike back to your starting location, which could take up to 9 hours on some days, but you might miss them because they keep moving. If this is the case, we will reschedule tracking for the following day (or alternatively refund half of the price paid for gorilla permit). However, at Inspire African Safaris, we guarantee that our guests will have a must-see experience. Following your return to your lodge, you will visit the Batwa Community for a warm welcome and beautiful cultural dances, as well as to learn about and participate in their activities.
Day 3:
After breakfast, the last part of the journey will bring us back to Kampala. We will stop at Mbarara for lunch before continuing on to Masaka town, where we will stop for a tea/coffee break and souvenir shopping. We will transport you to a hotel of your choice in Kampala or Entebbe where you will spend the night. If you wish to continue your journey elsewhere or return home, we will transport you to the airport for check-in once you have refreshed at our guesthouse.
