You have a chance to explore Iceland’s largest glacier, which formed thousands of years ago. On the road to the campsite, you can see the Svartifoss waterfall and Diamond Beach, a black beach where blocks of ice rest onshore. The Amphibian Boat Tour is the next optional activity for today (indicate in the booking if you want it included) and lets you experience sailing between the huge icebergs of Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Night in Stafafell Hostel Campsite.

Day 4 : East Coast and Seydisfjordur Fjord

Stafafell - Djúpivogur - Egilsstadir (Distance: 386 km 9 stops)

If you are interested in artwork, make a stop at Gledivík Bay to see The Eggs at Djúpavík. You might also be interested in visiting Petra´s Stone Collection – the garden with minerals and stone collections, famous in Iceland. This is only our recommendation, we will not include this in the tour price. On the east coast, do not miss out on Hengifoss; a waterfall against a basalt wall background is worth seeing! Next, you visit Hallormsstaður, Iceland's most significant forest. Then we suggest you visit Skriðuklaustur, is a very interesting farmstead, and the historical site is just closed by the waterfall. Here it is possible to visit this well-known historical site and the adjacent ruins, which date back to the 16th century. This is only our recommendation, we will not include this in the tour price. Your last of the day is Seyðisfjörður, said to be the most beautiful east fjord in the country! Nestled in between Mt. Bjólfur and Strandartindur, the village of 700 inhabitants is one of Iceland's landmarks with its colorful houses. Seyðisfjörður also hosts the annual Lunga Arts festival in mid-July and attracts locals and tourists alike.

Egilsstadir Campsite - Mývatn Lake - Hlíd Campsite (Distance: 234 km, 11 stops)

Today you visit the North East coast of Iceland and Lake Mývatn, rich in geothermal areas. The day would not be completed without visiting Dimmuborgir, a unique volcanic formation where caves and arches were formed during a powerful eruption 2300 years ago. Finally, you can end the day with a long and relaxing soak in the geothermal waters of Mývatn Nature Baths (optional activity, we can include it in the tour if you select it in your booking).

Night in Hlíd Campsite.

Day 6 : Húsavik & Akureyri - Diamond Circle

Hlíd- Diamond Circle - Hamrar (Distance: 256 km, 9 stops)

Start the day by visiting Dettifoss, the second most powerful waterfall in Europe. Next, you visit the Ásbyrgi, a shoe-shaped canyon that formed eight to ten thousand years ago, right after glacial flooding. Then you go to Húsavík fishing town, known as the whale watching spot and have the chance to see giant whales in their natural habitat. Here you can go join a Whale Watching Tour at 1:15 PM, where you would see whales in their habitat but could spot some dolphins jumping out of the water as they travel in groups. This is an optional activity and we can include in your tour if you select it in the booking. The next stop is a Gódafoss waterfall on the way to Akureyri - called The Capital of North.

Day 7 : The Battle of Iceland

Hamrar - Blonduós - Þingvellir Campsite (Distance: 463 km, 8 stops)

The first stop of the day is the Grafarkirkja Turf Church with its magical atmosphere. Then we recommend you to continue by visiting Hofsós swimming pool which is among the most photographed and popular ones in Iceland due to its breathtaking view of the fjord and the seclusive atmosphere. This is only our recommendation, the admission will not be included in the tour price. Next, you can visit the history museum 1238: The Battle of Iceland, where you experience the exhibition with VR & AR technology (optional activity, we can include it in the tour if you select it in your booking). Thingvellir National Park and its waterfall Öxará are the last visits on today´s itinerary.

We recommend stopping at Friðheimar Restaurant and Farm, famous for its horse breeding and horse show activities, and its tomato farm entirely run with geothermal energy using biological pest controls. The entrance to the farm is free, however, if you choose to taste the restaurant´s meals and beverages, you can do so at your own expense, which is not included in the tour price. Before visiting Reykjadalur Hot River, you stop at Kerið, a famous crater lake in Iceland. You will then head to your campsite if there is nothing you would like to see as an extra attraction.

Day 9 : Departure

Reykjavik campsite - Reykjavik Downtown - CampEasy (Distance: 63 km, 6 stops)

Perlan features, among others a Northern Lights Planetarium show and 100 meters The Ice Cave. If you choose to come here and join one of the Perlan-activities, you will have to arrange the admission yourself, as this is not going to be included in the tour price, it is only our recommendation.
