Get ready for an adventure!

This is a one-of-a-kind Wildness Van Expedition in Iceland's north, focusing on the unique aspects of backcountry skiing and snowboarding in the surrounding highlands. Throughout our voyage, we visit beautiful villages, spectacular scenery, and see a variety of species. This is a full-fledged experience in which we learn to deal with and read Icelandic weather on a daily basis. The program is designed to follow the weather patterns on the island. Depending on the weather, daily plans are subject to change.

Skiing In Iceland

It's beautiful and unpredictable. Winds, glaciers and dramatic changes in temperatures shape the Icelandic mountains. The most guaranteed snow conditions are in the spring season, when there is a nice slush to play with and plenty of snow on the summits. We have been exploring and monitoring the conditions for years to assess the environments expertly. We will pass on that knowledge to you during this expedition.

Day 1

REYKJANES - NORTH OF ICELAND
We start the day at 9:00 AM at our office in Keflavik, where we meet our fellow companions. After getting a brief on the journey ahead, we get settled with the equipment before hitting the road up north.

Day 2

EXPLORATION OF THE NORTH OF ICELAND - SIGLUFJORDUR
We wake up, check the weather forecast and set the course for the best skiing spots in the mountains. After a great expedition day, we might just jump into a warm pool, get ourselves in a sauna all ready for a dinner by a bonfire!

Day 3

SHRED DAY ON NORTH
We start the day by our weather assessment ritual. Depending on the forecast, we can go deeper in the mountains to reach higher summits.

Day 4

DRIVE TO THE MISTY MOUNTAINS
After assessing the weather, we choose a mountain for the day.

Day 5

THE SKI VALLEY
We wake up and check the weather forecast as per our routine. After selecting the finest spots, we can opt for a great local ski line in the ski valley. We end the day with staying at local family farm/camp.

Day 6

FUN DAY CHASING ELFES AND DRIVE BACK TO CAMP EASY BASE

The mountains around us offer steep lines and the view is simply breath-taking. After checking the weather forecast we will head for Whale Watching in Akureyri and make our way back to Camp easy base.
