Seeing the northern lights is on many people's bucket list. Come and fulfill your dream!
After picking you up from your hotel, we'll leave the city lights behind and drive to the location where we predict the clearest weather that night. On certain nights, this may take us to the coast near Tromsø, while on others, it may take us all the way to Finland. This suprise factor makes the aurora hunt even more exciting!
We'll choose a lovely area to set up the camp for the night once we've found clear skies. On certain evenings, the aurora is visible right away, but on others, we must wait. Sometimes there's just a faint greenish line over the horizon, and other times there's a rainbow of colors swirling in the sky.
The northern lights are visible on most evenings, but they are not always bright, which is why we encourage participating in multiple chases to enhance your chances of viewing a nice show (any extra night is 10 EUR cheaper).
After the excursion, we'll take photos of the the northern lights and you, which we'll share with you. If you bring your own camera, we'll show you how to set it up and teach you everything you need to know about taking amazing photos of the aurora and the breathtaking scenery surrounding us.
We don't mind the weather in Tromsø because we frequently find clear skies in the adjacent microclimates, making Tromsø the ideal starting point for our expedition. This tour is tailored to those who enjoy a good pursuit, which usually entails going long distances and returning late. Our reward is a high success rate in locating clear skies and observing the Northern Lights.
Need to know before you go
- Pictures often depict Northern Lights stronger than what we may see with our eyes
- We make toilet stops if possible, but sometimes we have to use nature
- It is possible to find clear sky even in seemingly challenging weather conditions
- There are no refunds or free trip if we don’t see the Northern Lights
- Regardless if the sky is clear or not, we may not see the Northern Lights
- This is a real chase and may include long hours of driving
- From late March onwards the chances of seeing the Northern Lights will be lower compared to the rest of the season, due to the long daylight hours. However, even in April we are successful on most chases.
- You may be tired the next morning
Every next night is a bit cheaper and if you stay longer we will give you a refund of the difference
Cancellation
A full refund will be provided for all cancellation made more than 24 hours before the start of tour.
