Few sports can compare to kitesurfing. Gliding over water using only the natural power of the wind is a thrill both memorable and rewarding. This 4-hour lesson introduces you to the fundamentals of kitesurfing to get you up and flying.
Kitesurfing combines elements of wakeboarding, sailing, and skateboarding all in one. Using the wind, a large kite pulls you and your surfboard across the water. Although it sounds tricky, the sport is not as hard as it looks. It only requires the right technical guidance. That’s where your instructor comes in.
With a licensed teacher, you start learning the basics on land at the school located in Malcesine. After enough practice, you head out on the lake in a dinghy to the best training spot for you and your high-quality equipment. With a small class of maximum four people, the instructor provides personalized guidance based on your skill level.
Surrounding by rock formations sprinkled with green, Lake Garda is a gorgeous setting to put your knowledge to the test. Once you catch the breeze at the right angle, that first thrill of sweeping across the waves will leave you addicted to the fun. Even if you fall a few times, you do so with a smile on your face.
The entire course runs for one to four days (each a four-hour lesson), but you may choose the number of classes you wish to take. After each session, you’re welcome to relax on the private beach right at the facility. If you choose to take the course for the full four days, you may take a written and practical exam to obtain a VDWS Kiteboarding License. This license proves your ability to kitesurf by yourself, and in some places in Europe, it's required for participants.
Try the ultimate balance test by surfing on the water with the breeze. Both the adrenaline and the spectacular surroundings of Lake Garda give you a thrill.
