Firstly, you will be picked up from your hotel in Brasov and transported 80 kilometers to the St. Anna's Lake area. You'll meet the ranger here, and after a briefing, you'll walk into the forest for 10 minutes until you reach the bear hide. When you're inside, sit quietly and wait for the bears to arrive. You will get to try the traditional homemade palinka and you will be given an overview of the bears' behavior.
As soon as the bears come, you can take amazing photographs of them in front of a mirror-like window. The bears will not be able to see you inside; only you will be able to see them. Make sure your flash and focus assist lights are turned off.
In Romania, this bear hide is one of a kind. Unlike the others, where travelers may see bears from 30-40 meters away, this one allows the visitors to observe these magnificent creatures from 10-15 meters. Furthermore, unlike other bear hides, where guests stay at a higher elevation and watch the bears eat, this observation point is located at ground level.
You will get to learn intriguing facts about bear life and behavior, as well as how to prevent bear encounters, while your stay here. After spending about two hours inside, we will return to the van and drive back to Brasov, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.

This was a quite pleasing experience although it could be better and easier. the office of Neotours is not at the address given but around the corner in a completely different street. Visitors who need to contact Neotours personally will find this worrying. The bear watch itself was good. The guides cannot be faulted for the fact that the bears appeared very late when it was very dark.
