We'll meet at a designated location early in the morning, and you'll have the opportunity to acquaint yourself with your bike. We'll begin the tour as soon as we're ready.

The initial kilometers will be via Brașov's downtown streets, followed by a straight length of road and some offroad to Cristian, a nearby village. Once you arrive, you will stroll through the picturesque alleys and enjoy the remarkable ancient Saxon houses, the most of which date from the 1800s. We'll see the evangelic fortified church, which was erected in the 12th-13th centuries, once we've arrived at the center. It was continually changed throughout the years, especially when earthquakes caused damage.

Following a quick history lesson, we'll continue our journey on a fast length of paved road towards Vulcan, where we'll face our first climb of the day, a 4-kilometer twisting route leading to the settlement of Holbav. Feel free to take breaks along the way to take in the breathtaking scenery and mountains. We will take a short break once we arrive at Holbav, and then descend quickly to the main street. We can get some refreshments at a local shop before leaving the hamlet.

The paved road comes to an end here, and a picturesque gravel road begins. We'll ride along the river and across a beautiful valley, saluting the farmers and locals who cultivate the land. We'll begin a series of difficult climbs to the upper plateau in a few kilometers. Unless you choose an eBike, which will make your life easier, be prepared for some hard pushing. However, if you want to push yourself, you can ride up the hills on a standard bike. Your efforts will be rewarded with a cool beverage from a nearby establishment.

We'll cycle across the foothills of the Magura Codlei hill once we arrive. We'll have a well-deserved traditional meal here, overlooking the rolling hills of Holbav, at a local home. Finally, we'll return to Vulcan and conclude the tour in Brasov.

This was a quite pleasing experience although it could be better and easier. the office of Neotours is not at the address given but around the corner in a completely different street. Visitors who need to contact Neotours personally will find this worrying. The bear watch itself was good. The guides cannot be faulted for the fact that the bears appeared very late when it was very dark.
