The Fagaras Mountains are Romania's highest, biggest, and wildest mountains. Tourists will marvel at the stunning views while exploring them, and will exert tremendous effort to tackle their tough pathways.
The Fagaras Mountains are shaped as a main, high, and continuous ridge that runs from East to West for 70 kilometers, with other smaller ridges branching out to the north and south. This major ridge appears as a chain of jagged and towering peaks around 2,400 – 2,500 m in the core area, descending to smoother heights near the extremities and reaching around 2,000 m.
Secondary ridges are more abundant in the north, where they are parallel and towered and measure 4 to 10 km in length, whereas those in the south are forked, smoother, and measure 30 km in length. The Fagaras Mountains have Romania's highest elevations: Moldoveanu 2,544 m, Negoiu 2,536 m, and Vistea Mare 2,527 m. The Fagaras Mountains occupy an area of around 3,000 square kilometers and are covered in broadleaf, coniferous, or mixed woods, as well as alpine and mountain grasslands.
Tourists will be able to learn about the area's creatures and birds, as well as a range of hiking and climbing trails, which we urge you to join us in exploring. The trails will be selected to match the physical fitness and technical ability of the tourists. We are sure that you will fall in love with the Fagaras Mountains!

This was a quite pleasing experience although it could be better and easier. the office of Neotours is not at the address given but around the corner in a completely different street. Visitors who need to contact Neotours personally will find this worrying. The bear watch itself was good. The guides cannot be faulted for the fact that the bears appeared very late when it was very dark.
