Why we love this tour
a
- The Muelle de la Luz (Pier of Light) is a wooden structure made by a well-known sculptor from Chiloé, which forms a trilogy of viewpoints that seeks to reveal the identity of this wonderful place of cliffs.
- During this tour, besides visiting the Muelle de la Luz and enjoying its impressive views, we will learn more about the nature that inhabits the island, sailing on the Chepu River, and tasting typical dishes of the area.
We will start the tour departing from the passengers' hotels in the city of Castro.
Our first stop will be in Puerto Anguay, a town on the edge of the Chepu River, where you can still see forests that were sunk in the 1960 earthquake.
Then we will take a boat that will take us to the mouth of the river where we will get off and take a short walk to the Muelle de la Luz.
From this beautiful place, we will take some time to admire this wooden structure and contemplate the dramatic landscapes that the cliff offers us, an ideal place to take beautiful pictures.
Then we will make another stop in Puerto Anguay, where we will be able to have lunch in a typical restaurant (optional), and in the afternoon we will take the nice Maderocarril, a little train that will take us through the different trails of the native forest of the place.
At the end, we will return to the passengers' hotels in Castro.
