Why we love this tour
a
- Through this tour we will be able to know the Island of Quinchao, which stands out for its history, architecture, religiosity and folklore.
- We will also visit the town of Achao, the largest outside of the big island and the main one among the Chiloé towns, which is why it is very much visited by inhabitants of the smaller islands, who come to study or to carry out commercial activities. The town is known for its traditional architecture.
- In addition, we will visit the town of Dalcahue, its handicraft fair and its church, which is a World Heritage Site.
We will begin our visit by leaving the passenger hotels to go to the village of Dalcahue, where we will visit its typical handicraft fair and its church, which was declared a World Heritage Site in 2000.
Then we will cross to Quinchao Island through a ferry. We will pass through Huyar and Curaco de Vélez, where we can learn more about its history, rural villages, architecture, religion and folklore.
We will continue our trip visiting Achao, a town surrounded by hills and built in front of a shallow beach. This town is very visited by the inhabitants of the smaller islands since it is the main town outside the Big Island.
Here we will be able to see the interesting architecture, which is quite particular since its houses are covered with tiles, which take on multiple forms. Here is the Santa Maria de Loreto de Achao Church, declared a World Heritage Site. It is the oldest church in Chiloé.
Finally, we will visit Villa Quinchao, where we will find the largest of the traditional churches of Chiloé and then we will reach the end of the island to the sector of Chequian.
At the end, we will return to the passengers' hotels.
