Among the 250+ glaciers in Iceland, Solheimajokull remains one of the most compelling icy havens. Because the glacier sits on top of the Katla volcano, hiking across means incredible views of ice and volcanic ash covered land. Join a trek of breathtaking views and frosty adventure.

Once your guide greets you at the meeting point, you receive all the necessary equipment for glacier hiking. A short and sweet 15-minute walk brings you the edge of the ice. The guide, a glacier expert, helps you assemble your gear, and then you're off.

Stamp your metal spiked boots into the solid ice as you breathe in the crisp air. The panoramic views around you give way to a fascinating mixture of bright ice and dark volcanic ash left by past eruptions. Hike past jagged sheets of rock interrupted by cracks and crevasses in the ever-changing glacier.

The 60-90 minutes out on the ice is a mix of exhilarating exploration, glacier and volcano education, and magnificent views.

Find the ultimate mix of Iceland's most breathtaking natural features in one trip. Mountain peaks, volcanoes, glaciers, Solheimajokull has it all.

I attempted to contact your company twice via email before my tour due to inability to travel to Iceland to cancel and be reimbursed but never heard back. I am very disappointed in your customer service. I was frustrated to receive this email today.

We went in February and had the best weather we could have wished for. The tour was well organised and the preparation went very smoothly. Our guide was very friendly and always happy to answer any questions we had. The hike was amazing. Even though some of our group were worried that it might be too difficult, it worked quite well (all of us were used to walking the dog/ going on daily walks). The view from the glacier was absolutely stunning and we could stop to take pictures. Unfortunately, the „Blue Ice Cave“ was incredibly disappointing. It was maybe 5 metres long/„deep“ and only four people could enter at a time. Each group of four probably spent up to 10 min in the tiny „cave“ (to take pictures as there wasn‘t anything else to do/see there. The pictures on the website are completely misleading. Organisation of the tour: 5 stars Guide: 5 stars Glacier hike: 5 stars Ice „Cave“: 1 star

We didn’t know what to expect. This tour was worth it. We learned a good amount about the glaciers and, sadly, about how they are disappearing. The hiking was easy and the views were fabulous.
