The volcanic features of Lanzarote's Los Volcanes Natural Park create an almost alien atmosphere, and the island's vineyards certainly add to this effect. Fields of hollowed-out "la geria" dot the black volcanic soil to house grapevines, with a tiny wall of rocks built around each hole to protect against wind. Take a photography lesson through this outer space landscape of cooled lava and cones and sharpen your skills.
The lesson is tailored to your experience level, and your dedicated instructor works with you on your specific goals. With over 20 years of photography experience After you are picked up from your accommodation, you head towards the intriguing vineyards of the Valley of La Geria.
These bizarre fields are instant head-turners. The indigenous people invented this method for growing grapes in the dark volcanic ash. Housing one vine each, the holes are filled with soul and protected with half-circles of stones. Although unconventional, this area produces some of the best wines of Lanzarote.
Next, you drive to Los Volcanes National Park, an otherworldly expanse of little vegetation and lot of solidified magma. Volcanic eruptions from this area in the 18th century shaped Lanzarote's modern landscape. Work on your landscape photography with your instructor for the optimal exposure, framing, etc. of the rolling hills of orange, beige, and black rocks.
As if the trip were not extraterrestrial enough, the final photographing destination is El Golfo, a half-exposed volcanic cone. Erosion from the sea has created an intricate texture on the red rock, contrasted even more by the bright green lagoon next to it. Volcanic minerals and micro-organisms fill the waters of Lago Verde to make an almost glowing green color. Find your best shot of this colorful coastline site with the help of your instructor. With no shortage of fascinating features, Lanzarote is a nature photographer's dream. Start your photography journey or refine your abilities as you explore with a passionate teacher. We promise he's a human, but we can't promise you won't feel an alien atmosphere in Lanzarote.
