- Challenge yourself on narrow passes
- Climb steep walls of impressive exposure
Climbers celebrate the Via Ferrata Che Guevara as one of the most spectacular ferrata routes in the Trentino region. At almost 15 km (9 mi) long, it's also one of the longest routes. Thanks to a busy series of ladders, rungs, and vertical sections, you climb from the path's beginning in the town of Pietramurata all the way to the summit of Monte Casale (1,630 m/10,010 ft).
The journey begins with a walk from Pietramurata up to the first series of ladders. The main section begins boldly with narrow ledges and steep ascents. You reach areas of considerable exposure, giving way to excellent views of the Sarca Valley below and Lake Garda in the distance. After a few hours and a few rests along the way, you arrive at the summit plateau, a beautifully green grass mound punctuated by a summit monument.
Perhaps equal parts climbing and trekking, the Via Ferrata Che Guevara's steep ascent provides a thrilling journey of adventure (and fitness!) along the limestone giant of Monte Casale.
