Why we love this tour
Scale rock walls high up over Lake Garda for unbeatable views, a vertical via ferrata, and historical WWI discoveries.
- Enjoy panoramic views of the majestic Lake Garda
- Reach over 900 m (2,900 ft) in altitude
- Explore WWI fortresses and tunnels
- Climb this 6km (3.7 mi) route through rugged nature
- End at the historic Ponale Road

Perhaps one of the most celebrated via ferrata climbs near Lake Garda, the Cima Capi route is a perfect combination of nature, history, and views. Located on the northern tip of Lake Garda, the vertical route climbs up the Sarca Valley to over 900 m (2,900 ft) in altitude, giving way to spectacular views of the bright blue Lake Garda and surrounding rock faces.
Meeting your guide in one of three meeting points, you receive all your equipment and take a shuttle to the starting point. After a brief introduction, you set off climbing on rocks and iron steps. Navigate wild bushes and trees poking out on between the rocks as you ascend this massive limestone mountain. The exposed path gives way to clear views of Lake Garda below. Admire the natural gem below you of calm blue body of water set against giant mountains.
At the end of the route, walk along Ponale Road, an ancient street built to connect the town of Riva del Garda to the Ledro Valley. Follow the road through tunnels built by Austro-Hungarians in WWI to defend against the neighboring Italians. This area was their line of defense, so you also pass various trenches from where soldiers prepared themselves for conflict.
This vertical climb requires some effort, but the altitude brings you views you can't even imagine. Climb the Cima Capi via ferrata to experience Lake Garda's history and marvelous mountains all in one.
From Novemeber to March also Winter Via Ferrata (every day at 9:00AM).

A very good experience. The number of exposed sections were shorter (but with considerable difficulty) than what I had expected. Hiking along the steep path carved out in the mountain was the mainstay. But 5/5 to our guide Matteo who was an expert mountaineer (he helped a fellow climber cross over a difficult section when she got badly stuck). Overall a very memorable experience!

Best day ever, easy to find very reliable and friendly staff. Plus you get to see some really great scenery on your way to the steering point. First class canyoning and the guide Andrea needs a pay rise.

This was definitely the highlight of my trip to Lake Garda! Such an amazing experience with one other solo traveller and our guide Andrea who immediately put us at ease with his sense of humour and easy going nature. He also kept a watchful eye on our safety as we were both first timers on a via ferrata climb. The views were spectacular ...even better than I anticipated! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun yet challenging activity

Location was very nice, instructor was friendly and experienced. We had a lot of fun! Only thing that was a bit confusing was the pickup. We booked through OutdoorVisit but we're supposed to find the tour operator (MMove) at the crowded pickup point. They didn't seem to be able to find our reservation, but after 20 mins everything worked out. This meant that other people had to wait for us though.

Fantastic day out. The guys were great, made it a laugh and I 100% recommend. I’m afraid of heights and water and managed to do it, my adrenaline was pumping. Lots of jumps and abseils. It is a little scary but you feel great and really feel you achieved something afterwards. I think the reps were called David and Andreo they were great!
