We begin our e-bike tour in Corralejo, a well-known, beautiful town on the north tip of Fuerteventura. Smooth sand dunes - designated as a natural reserve - give the area an otherworldly energy, and the surrounding sea is a clear, strong shade of blue, with volcanic rocks along the shoreline.
The small island of Los Lobos is nearby (easily reached by ferry) and its highly-visible silhouette on the horizon is a stunning part of Corralejo's views. Temperatures rarely dip below 20°C (68°F) and there is very little rainfall. To sum it up: it's a sunny paradise, and e-biking through it is unlike anything else.
From our meeting point, we take the short ferry ride to Los Lobos and get our e-bikes. You do not need experience with e-bikes to join this tour, and families with children are welcome. Our expert guide sets up your e-bike according to your needs and explains how to switch gears for maximum comfort. Then we begin, making our way to our first stop: Punta Martino, a 100-year-old lighthouse by the water.
Next is a short walk to the top of a volcano, from where views of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura surround us. From this height, and during the entire tour, we see why Los Lobos is a designated protected zone and a UNESCO Biosphere Nature Reserve. The ecological diversity is incredible. Your guide takes you up and down paths that make you thankful to be riding one of the best e-bikes around. You remain comfortable and can fully appreciate the surrounding landscapes.
Any island tour is incomplete without a swim, and your guide leads you to a natural lagoon with crystal clear waters that are an ideal way to refresh after pedaling in the island's pleasant but warm climate. Finally, as your final reward, we enjoy paella, a delicious seafood dish with origins on the east coast of Spain. Time to relax, eat, and have a cold glass of your favorite beverage. After about six hours of exploring, you earned it!
This tour follows many paths, and your entertaining guide tells you all about each area you pass through. It's the ideal way to experience island life while learning and, most importantly, having fun the whole way through!
