Due to the whales’ wild nature, we can't guarantee visitors will see them. However, encounters with these sea mammals are very common on this trip.

You should arrive 15 minutes earlier to avoid any inconvenience.
Cancellation

“Thar she blows!” After hearing these words, you know a whale is nearby. This is how a whaler hails the ship’s crew when sighting the massive sea mammal spouting water into the air. It is also a pretty common expression around the southwest coast of Tenerife.
The turquoise and calm sea of this part of the Atlantic is one of the best spots to observe whales in their natural environment. More than 21 species live in the area. On the best days, visitors can see these gigantic creatures making a cloud of bubbles, flipping flippers and flukes out of the sea, or even greeting visitors on the surface of the water.
Your boat departs at 9:00 a.m. from Las Galletas beach, where your marine biologist guide waits for you at the meeting time. In case you decide to drive, there is a parking area just next to the marina (1 euro per hour).
Onboard, your captain gives you short instructions concerning safety, and your guide talks about the species of whales and dolphins that you are likely to encounter.
After that, the captain navigates the ship a bit offshore. This is your chance to glance around and see different views over Tenerife and its neighbor La Gomera.
A few minutes later, the boat stops in the area where you are most likely to spot whales. The most common species visitors get to see is the short-finned pilot whale because they like to rest on the surface of the water. Your guide shares information about all animals you see and takes pictures of your trip. All you need to worry about is watching.
