The highest point in Lanzarote, Peñas del Chache, shows off the best views on the island. And when hiking to the top with a passionate guide that understands and cares for Lanzarote's unique habitat, you will discover a wonderful appreciation for the nature this trek takes you through.

Our tour begins with a pickup from your hotel at 9:00 a.m. We provide walking sticks, as this 8-km hike is a bit of a climb. Apart from comfortable walking shoes, we recommend you bring sun protection and a light weather-proof jacket; rain is rare on the island, but it is most common in this northern area, so we like to be prepared.

We start our walk at Famara beach, located at the foot of a mountain, with strong waves hitting majestic cliffs. Our hike takes us 670 m (2,200 ft) above sea level, but thanks to our guide, the journey is just as interesting as the destination. We move through a habitat that has the fourth highest density of endemic flora in Europe, and each beautiful plant is explained to us in great detail.

The surrounding landscapes from the very top perfectly show off this volcanic island. Once we begin our descent, we comfortably move down through the woodlands of El Bosquecillo. From here, we see the stunning Farama coast and other nearby islands. Thanks to these views, the area is often called one of the best “balconies” in the north of Lanzarote.

A highlight of our tour is the Valley of 1,000 Palms, a green oasis located in the village of Haría. The trees are utilized by locals for baskets, traditional hats, and other handmade crafts, and everything is sold in small artisan shops and at a weekly craft market.

About halfway through our four hours of exploring, we enjoy a delicious picnic lunch, which can accommodate any allergy or food intolerance if you let us know in advance. Because of our guides' dedication to sustainability, the food and its packaging are always eco-friendly.

After our exploration, we drop you back at your hotel. This tour requires a bit of physical effort, but there is so much to see and learn that you won't mind putting your legs to work. Lanzarote has such beautiful things to show you, there is no time to worry about a small ache in your feet!
