Whether you are a passionate birder or you simply have an appreciation for nature, you will enjoy every moment of this tour. The protected Lanzarote desert is beautiful on its own, but hopping into a land rover with high-quality binoculars (which we provide), you experience a whole new world.

Our tour begins after you come to the agreed meeting point. Once we reach the Lanzarote desert area of Soo, we board the jeep, a land rover driven by our expert guide. This protected area allows access to a limited number of people, and it is always our goal to be respectful to the natural environment.

Because we explore in small groups, you can ask, listen, stop, and take photos as often as you like. This is a jeep safari, so we stay in the car unless you wish to take a closer look at some fauna, stop for a coffee, or stretch your legs. As we drive around, our guide explains interesting facts about geology, biodiversity, and the conservation efforts so important to sustaining the beautiful yet fragile ecosystem.

Each season presents a unique side to this wild nature. For example, during the spring breeding season, we may witness impressive displays of “dance”. However, many wonders remain year-round; we often see “The Big Three”: the houbara bustard, cream-colored courser, and stone curlew, all unique in their behavior. Your guide’s exceptional determination helps find the endemic birds, as well as some that have “gotten lost”, like the African hoopoe lark.

Before ending our tour, we enjoy a midmorning coffee break at a local village, where we also have a quick snack and can continue asking about the volcanic and other history of this special area.

This tour teaches more than you could ever hope to learn from a guidebook. With a guide so passionate about protecting the irreplaceable natural treasures of Lanzarote, this safari is as rare as the species you discover at each turn.
